1. REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER.
In order to be saved you must admit that you are lost in sin. The Bible teaches us that we are born with a sin nature. (Psalm 51:5) states, "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity and in sin did my mother conceive me." (Romans 3:23) says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” God also declares in (Romans 3:10), "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one." So in our lost condition there is a penalty that is put upon us. It is death sentence that separates us from God. (Romans 6:23) declares, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
2. RECOGNIZE THAT YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF.
Many people often think that there are many ways to get to heaven. Some believe if they are a good person or do good deeds that will earn them a place in heaven; however, this is not true. If we could save ourselves with our works or good deeds then why did Jesus have to come and die? In (Ephesians 2:8–9) the Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Salvation has nothing to do with what we do or can do. It rests upon our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
3. REPENT OF YOUR SINS.
You must repent of your sins. That means that you must forsake your sins and put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. (II Peter 3:9) says, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (John 3:16) explains, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, He paid our sin debt!. He took our place so we wouldn't have to die a spiritual death that would separate us from God. By His grace, salvation is provided. In (Romans 5:8) the Bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
4. RECEIVE AND BELIEVE SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST.
In (Romans 10:13) the Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” God promises that if you will pray to Him, confess your sins, ask Him to forgive your sins, and turn to Him alone to be your Savior, then He will save you and give you eternal life.through Jesus Christ our Lord. You can make that decision today by calling out to God in faith.
